Youtube Originals to be Available for Free?

There is some good news for Youtube Originals’ lovers from the annual Brandcast event. The annual Brandcast event is a gathering where Youtube portrays the plan for its advertisers.

Robert Kyncl, the Chief Business Officer of Youtube announced his company’s vision to convert Youtube’s Originals from a subscription / paywall model to ad-supported free content. While the announcement is promising, Youtube has not positioned itself to let go of paid subscriptions at one go.

It is mooted that the two seasons of “Cobra Kai” which is the follow up of the “Karate Kid” will be released as free content from August 29.

 “While every other media company is racing to put their content behind the paywall, we’re headed in the opposite direction by making our original content available for free,”

Upcoming Youtube Originals 

Kyncl added that the third season of “Cobra Kai” will be released in 2020 along with Kevin Hart’s “What the Fit”. Kyncl also revealed that Youtube Originals is working on a confidential project with Justin Bieber. Apart from this, Youtube Originals will showcase a documentary on Paris Hilton, “A Heist with Markiplier” – an interactive special broadcast and a documentary on the Dude Perfect Youtube Channel.

Catering to Customized Prime Time

Susan Wojcicki, the CEO of Youtube mentioned that “Prime time is now personal” and it depends on the definitive time which people spend on their mobile phones.
