Update – six fire fighters getting into tunnel to save Surjith – https://thenewscrunch.com/6-fire-fighters-ready-to-get-into-the-borewell-to-save-surjith-sujith-rescue-operations-live-updates-savesujith/8959/
Currently, the rig is in the process of being fitted with a rig machine. Rescue crews are very careful not to bury the soil and collapse because it is a very heavy machine. A nearby spot is marked and a 100ft deep borewell is being dug with a sidewalk of 2 metre near the spot where the other borewell exists. Plans are to connect them both sideways and rescue Surjith. The work will begin at about 5 am, said Trichy District Collector Sivarasaguru. The engine is said to be up and running by 6pm, perhaps overdue. It takes 4 hours to drill the hole. Firefighters Kannadasan, Dilip Kumar and Manikandan will come down and recover. So the rescue teams are expected to recover Surjith by 10 am.
#savesujith is still trending worldwide with prayers coming from nook and corners. People are frustrated and sharing their views online but efforts are being made by Government in war-front mode in this rescue operations.
