Chinese anime has always had a fan base of its own but off late the creators have been making shows that are making headlines. The aesthetics and production value is beyond comparison. These shows unfortunately go unnoticed considering the massive industry that is the mainstream Japanese anime.

One of the Chinese anime shows that have been well received despite the noise about Japanese anime is Scissor Seven. The show has been largely accepted and liked by those who have had the opportunity to watch it.

The Netflix director of content, John Derderian, had earlier mentioned how impressed they were with the production quality of Scissor Seven. The novel way of crafting a story in a manner that it resonates with the viewers as well as is loved across the globe by lovers of animation. Scissor Seven is the only Chinese-language title that received a nomination in the TV Film category at the 2018 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

The first season of Scissor Seven managed to connect exceptionally well with the global audience which is why the second season should be released soon.

Scissor Seven Season 2 Plot

Scissor Seven is a story revolving around the many adventures of Wu Liuqi who is a young not-so-dangerous assassin known for being the master of disguise. Since he isn’t the best at what he does, he only charges a nominal fee for carrying out his assassins. But since he’s not so good at his profession, things don’t usually go as planned and he often finds himself in the most ridiculously funny situations.

Looking into the animation and storyline, the Netflix version is exactly the same as the original version. But some changes have been made to the dialogues of the characters to make it more suitable for an international audience.

According to the official synopsis on Netflix: “Seeking to recover his memory, a scissor-wielding, hairdressing, bungling quasi-assassin stumbles into a struggle for power among feuding factions.”
