While the entire country is on a 21 day lockdown due to the corona virus outbreak, the Government took the decision to re-telecast the mythological serial of the 80’s Ramayana on public demand. The show has been onscreen from March 28th 2020. The Ministry of Information and Broadcast confirmed that owing to the 21-day nationwide lockdown it would be pleasing for the viewers to watch something soothing in these dark times. Post talks it was decided that Ramayana would be streaming yet again. People have expressed unconditional love for mythological TV shows and wished it would be telecasted again to keep spirits high during these times. After rounds of discussions the final decision was good for all.
The Union Minister Prakash Zavadekar took to Twitter to announce as in his tweet, “Happy to announce that on public demand, we are starting re-telecast of ‘Ramayana’ from tomorrow, Saturday March 28 in DD National, One episode in morning 9 am to 10 am, another in the evening 9 pm to 10 pm.”

Ramayana re-telecast 2020: Where to Watch It?
Ramayana will be retelecasted on DD National from March 28th 2020 onwards. One episode will be telecast in the morning from 9 am to 10 am every day, while another will be telecast from 9 pm to 10 pm.

Iconic serial Ramayana was directed by Ramanand Sagar. The show was originally broadcast from 25 January to 31 July 1988. Ramayana featured Arun Govil as Ram, Deepika Chikhalia as Sita, Sunil Lahri as Lakshman, Arvind Trivedi as Ravana and Late Dara Singh as Hanuman.
