The price for the most renowned plan proposed by Hulu has been dropped from $7.99 to $5.99. This has been done as the company wishes to stay safe and survive the competition in the market as is announced by it this Wednesday.

There are certain changes seen in Hulu rates. While the charge of an advertisement-free genre of Hulu has been kept unchanged at $11.99, the Hulu live TV, on the other hand, will see a small hike in the price from $39.99 to $49.99. The Hulu- Spotify combo package stays at $12.99 per month. These new charge updates will be applicable from February 26. Hulu has also cut the price of its DVR and multi-screen viewing adds-on to just $9.99 from $14.99 per month. Apart from these, the company has also made a number of technological advancements for the convenience of the users. Hulu has full HD channels and programmes at the rate Netflix extends its offers for non-HD channels.

There is an upsurge in the content being shown and the expenditure in producing original programmes is quite in demand. To survive the growing trend, Netflix, HBO, and Hulu have been coming up with several such original shows to claim their interest in the market. To this, the streaming functionaries are also facing new entries and blow by cash.

While Netflix has declared its hike in the price quite recently from the cheapest and most affordable plan to $9 a month, Hulu has also fixed certain changes in the policy. This was although not related to increasing the capital yet through this, they believe they could bind the customers to them before any other popular media launch their streams. The media giants that are set to launch their services are Disney, NBCUniversal, and AT&T. These companies will be in the market in no less than two years.

Setting a raised rate at the topmost tier can help Hulu acquire a better status on conventionally expensive live TV services. Yet cheapest amongst its competitors, Hulu at $5.99 per month is still very low. Youtube TV owned by the Alphabet like Hulu has also declared the price hike for a similar plan for $40 per month.

Thus, the entry-level subscription for Hulu has been made much easier as compared to any other key streaming channels. Through this, they believe that the customers could now be more satisfied. There was a requirement of such a redesign, said the company.
