The Collector of Coimbatore has ordered that wearing mask must be mandatory in the Coimbatore district. Coronavirus has spread rapidly in Tamil Nadu and the number of victims has crossed one thousand. Coimbatore district is next to Chennai in total number of Coronavirus cases.

In this case, Collector K Rajamani has ordered that the mask should be worn in the Coimbatore district. In his statement, the Collector said:

People from overseas and abroad who have been in contact with coronavirus victims have been advised to immediately notify the health department or district administration if there are signs of a coronavirus infection such as fever and cough.

On the contrary, persons who have not been tested and not treated will take action according to the Prevention of Infection Act 1897 and the Public Health Act 1939.

Which areas in Coimbatore is Sealed due to Coronavirus

In view of public safety in Coimbatore, coronavirus infected areas such as Anaimalai, Pollachi North, Pollachi South, Madukarai, Annur and Mettupalayam in particular, Sundarapuram, Kuniyamuthoor, Ukkadam, R.S Puram, Countampalayam and Cheranmanagar areas have been declared as restricted and isolated areas for the public to go out.

People in these areas are not allowed to go out. And people from other areas are not allowed to enter these areas. Steps have been taken to provide essential commodities for the public in these area.
