While the nation anxiously waited for PM Modi’s speech at 9AM, his advice to light lamps and torch lights at 9PM on Sunday night seems to have rubbed the wrong shoulders of leftists and atheists. Makkal Neethi Mayyam leader and popular actor of Tamil cinema, Kamal Hassan tweeted immediately after PM Modi’s 9 minute speech. Kamal Hassan said, “I also looked forward to the Prime Minister speaking. The solution to the shortage of safeguards, the scarce supply of essential goods, the livelihood of the poor, the future economic activity, but to the torch that we have somehow reached today”.
However, Gayathri Raghuram countered Kamal Hassan’s claims which alleged inadequacies in government actions. Gayathri Raghuram, quoted, “Kamal sir government is doing their job just fine. Did you expect sudden hike of covid 19 cases because of #TabhleegiJamaat? Did you speak about the violent spitting on police? Let government do the job let’s not dictate them what to do. Absolutely clueless. Show unity positivity”.
