Ajith’s Nerkonda Paarvai is the official Tamil remake of Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Pink. While Boney Kapoor produced by Tamil version, director H Vinoth helmed the film. Chinmayi Sripaada, who was one of the pillars of the #MeToo movement watched the film, a year after it’s release.
Chinmayi had her own reasons to have not watched it last year when it released. However, she finally brought herself to watch Nerkonda Paarvai and appreciated the team.
She took to Twitter to express her thoughts on Nerkonda Paarvai. She wrote, ” I am a very average film watcher who likes happy films. It’s very hard for me to digest any kind of gritty film. And I was scared to watch Nerkonda Paarvai because I felt it would be difficult. Finally found the courage to watch it last night. And I was so happy to see the message being conveyed in such a sensitive manner. Lots of love and affection to the team.”
She also added, “So heartening to see big stars like Ajith sir agree to do such nuanced, progressive films. He will help spread the message wider and hopefully make many think, question and understand. Really happy that Pawan Kalyan sir is doing it in Telugu. So proud of writers and directors who are making films like Nerkonda Paarvai, Dear Comrade and Brochevarevarura. Thank you for understanding and sensitivity. It helps to have allies like you to change ho we think about and respond to such situations (sic),” with heart emoticons.
